About the NUYOU program

The NUYOU nurse support program is designed for patients who have been prescribed NUCALA (mepolizumab) for severe eosinophilic asthma or chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, to help you to administer your Nucala injection independently at home.

It is a free program, which gives you access to a team of experienced, registered nurses who are dedicated to supporting you throughout your treatment journey. They will provide training sessions to help you learn how to self-inject, and can also provide you with practical advice, point you in the direction of local services, or help answer questions you might have about your treatment or about living with your condition.

Training can be virtual via telehealth video calls or face-to-face in your home or workplace (if we have a nurse available in your area).

This program is designed to work with you and your healthcare team. It does not replace the advice received from members of your healthcare team.

If you have any questions about your treatment, or do not feel confident self-injecting, our nurses are here to help.

Order a sharps container

To order a free replacement sharps container, please click on the button below or call the NUYOU team on 1800 168 968.

Note: It is essential to dispose of injectable medicines safely, so once you have used your injectable device, place it directly into a sharps container. When your container becomes two-thirds full it is ready to be disposed of. It is important to always keep your sharps container out of reach of children. Injectables should never be disposed of in household or public rubbish bins. If you have any questions about safely disposing of your injectable devices, speak to your healthcare team, or call the NUYOU team on 1800 168 968.

Disposing of your sharps container

Most public hospitals and many pharmacies across Australia offer a sharps disposal service for people who need to self-inject medication at home. Speak to your pharmacist or contact your local hospital to ask if you can arrange to safely dispose of your sharps container with them. You can also visit the Pharmacy Guild of Australia website for a list of local disposal locations. Alternatively, you can also contact your local council to enquire about safe sharps disposal.
